Fashion Forward: The Cat’s Pajamas

Men’s wear in The Gambia is totally the cat’s pajamas, or in other words, on point. But really, let’s bring back that 1920s hipster lingo “the cat’s pajamas” because it totally rocks and also Gambian men look like they are dressed in their actual pajamas so it can’t get more perfect than that. Anyway…

Men in The Gambia typically wear a “kaftan,” also known as a “halftan” depending on which region you live in. The kaftan is a matching trouser and long shirt set that usually features embroidery around the neck.

I absolutely love the look of a good kaftan so I decided I wanted a few for myself. I, of course, made my outfits super silly because well, how much longer am I going to be able to wear a pant suit with neon designs on it and be told I look beautiful?
