To be honest, I was ready for it all to be over before the race even started. About four months into my training, and just two weeks before the big day, I got tired. I was tired of counting kilometers, tired of canceling happy hour, tired of skipping late night social events and tired of waking up before the sun. I was tired, so very tired, of running.
The Color Run really is the happiest 5K on the planet! It was awesome to be surrounded by my whole Chile “family” as my friends and roommates joined me for this explosion of color and fun.
Although this race reminded me how difficult it can be to live so far from home, it was also another show of the incredible connections I’ve made here and how much I’ve changed throughout this journey.
Four months ago, I couldn’t run a whole kilometer without stopping to walk. Today, I ran a full seven and crossed the finish line in my first-ever race.
