Two stories on a priest’s fall from grace.
Monsignor Kevin McAuliffe, second only to the bishop in the Las Vegas Diocese, admitted to stealing $650,000 from one of Nevada’s largest Catholic churches. Three days after his guilty plea in federal court, the pastor said he stole to feed his gambling addiction. Parishioners at his Summerlin parish wept when they learned McAuliffe could no longer lead their church and promised to forgive their beloved priest. One man credited the monsignor with his own gambling addiction recovery.
